Saturday, March 23rd is National Puppy Day. It is a day about puppies, and not much more information is needed to explain why National Puppy Day is one of the best days of the year. Still, in honor of National Puppy Day, here are several assorted thoughts
    • Remember there are a lot of dogs, both puppies and grown pups, waiting to be adopted at your local shelter. At Seminole County Animal Services, adoption hours on Saturday are 10am to 4pm. The address is 232 Eslinger Way Sanford, FL 32773.
    • Puppies will not be puppies forever. Remember to choose a dog breed that you're going to love when they're older. The majority of dogs are given up for adoption are between 5 months and 3 years of age. Why? Because some dog owners realized they weren't ready (5 months) and the rest only wanted a dog for the puppy stage.
    • Puppies need early familiarization with both people and other dogs to reduce fear/aggressive behaviors.
    • Always, always give your puppy and dog their shots as they get older. It will save their life.
Finally, no matter how old your dog may be, he or she is still always going to be your puppy. Let us know if you'd like our help caring for them as they get older. Call us today or fill out our form for a quote.
